Garware Motors has entered the motorcycle market with its partner Hyosung. But these bikes are premium offerings priced above Rs. 5 lakhs. Now the pune based company is in talks with the Korean automaker to launch entry level bikes in the country. Although this won’t happen before 2012, but Garware Motors is looking at launching bikes in the 150cc and 250cc segment.

If Hyosung do plan to launch a 250cc bike, it will be the GT250R. The Hyosung GT250R is the younger sibling of the GT650R with similar design. The GT250R comes with a 249 cc Double OverHead Cam (DOHC), 4-stroke V-twin fuel injected engine producing 28bhp at 10,000Rpm and 22.68Nm of torque at 8000Rpm. Weighing in at 171kgs, the GT250R will hit a top speed of 175kmph and sports a 5-speed gearbox. If manufactured at Garware Motors Wai facility, the GT250R will be priced under Rs. 2 lakhs.
