Two trims of the petrol-AMT are priced at Rs. 6.3 lakhs and Rs. 6.9 lakhs respectively. On the other hand, the diesel manual starts at Rs. 6.70 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 7.99 lakhs. A single diesel AMT variant is priced at Rs. 7.85 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom).

The Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS carries over engines from its predecessor. It runs on either a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol or a 1.2-litre CRDi diesel powertrain. While the petrol produces 83 PS of power and 113.7 Nm of torque the diesel churns 75 PS of power and a peak torque of 190.2 Nm. It is important to note that out of the two, only the petrol is BS6 compliant. Both engines are offered with a 5-speed manual and a ‘smart-auto’ automatic transmission.

The Grand i10 NIOS get a black/silver radiator grille, boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, projector headlamps, new 15-inch alloy wheels, a blacked-out C-pillar, roof rails and a shark fin antenna. At the rear, the hatchback gets newly designed tail-lights and a new bumper. The NIOS is 40 mm longer, 20 mm wider and has a wheelbase that is 15 mm larger than the Grand i10.

There are 6 monotone colour options on offer (white, silver, grey, red, blue and teal) along with 2 dual-tone options – Aqua Teal with a black roof and Polar White with a black roof.

The fully-equipped Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS Asta variant gets an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and voice recognition. The cabin is finished in a white-black dual-tone treatment while automatic climate control, a 5.3-inch part-digital instrument cluster, a segment-first wireless charger, a cooled glovebox, keyless entry with push-button start/stop and rear AC vents are part of the package.

In terms of safety, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, seat-belt reminders and rear parking sensors offered as standard. The Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS is compliant with the upcoming crash test and pedestrian safety norms. The company is also offering a ‘Variable Basic Warranty’ package with 3 different options- 3-year/1 lakh kilometre or 4-year/50,000 kilometres or 5-year/40,000 kilometres, as well as with a roadside assistance pack.

The Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS rivals the segment-favourite Maruti Suzuki Swift (Rs. 5.14-8.89 lakhs) and the Ford Figo (Rs. 5.23-7.70 lakhs).
