Harley-Davidson Fat Boy Gray Ghost Revealed, Pays Homage To The Original Fat Boy
Harley-Davidson has revealed the Fat Boy Gray Ghost. It is made to pay tribute to the original 1990 Fat Boy. The Gray Ghost has been revealed after nearly three decades since the launch of the cultural icon.
Harley-Davidson will build only 1990 units of the Fat Boy Gray Ghost, corresponding to the model year of the original one. The 1990 Fat Boy became famous due to its role in the “Terminator 2: Judgement Day” movie. This is part of the company’s Icons Motorcycle Collection.
The most notable aspect of the Fat Boy Gray Ghost is the reflective grey finish on various components. This ultra-polished, mirror-like finish, which utilises the Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) process, resists corrosion better than traditional chrome.
Styling
There are also yellow accents on the engine, tank console, and other trim elements. This also takes inspiration from the original Fat Boy. The circular air cleaner, meaty disc wheels and large fork give the Gray Ghost similarities with the original Fat Boy.
Engine
The Harley-Davidson Fat Boy Gray Ghost is powered by a 1923cc V-twin motor that produces 101 HP and 171 Nm of torque. There is a 49 mm dual bending front fork suspension at the front and under-seat hydraulic pre-load adjustment.
The seat height is low at 655 mm, enhancing the cruiser aesthetic. In terms of features, the Fat Boy Gray Ghost has LED lighting and keyless ignition. Additionally, the bike also gets a USB-C port and easily accessible heated gear connectors.
Harley-Davidson has equipped the Fat Boy Gray Ghost with ABS/ Cornering ABS, Traction Control/ Cornering Traction Control, TPMS, and Direct Torque Slip Control/ Cornering DTSC.
Outlook
Harley-Davidson hasn’t confirmed the launch of the Fat Boy Gray Ghost in India. The company has priced the bike at 25,399 USD or Rs. 21.5 Lakh approximately. However, if the Gray Ghost launches in India, it may come in very limited numbers out of the 1990 units.
