The Indian bike maker exits 150cc segment as Xtreme Sports gets discontinued.

2015 Hero Xtreme Sports Specifications
After the discontinuation of Xtreme Sports, Hero has exited 150cc segment

Hero MotoCorp has discontinued the Xtreme Sports 150cc motorcycle and with this, the bike maker has exited the 150cc segment. The bike has been discontinued due to poor sales and demand.

It was powered by a 149.2 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 15.6 BHP and 13.50 Nm of torque. This engine was not intended to be updated for BS6 as there was diminishing demand for Hero to invest in the same.

Another bike which couldn’t make it to the BS6 era is the Hero Karizma. The Indian bike maker tried hard reviving the name but couldn’t manage to sell it in big numbers and hence it gets discontinued.

Hero MotoCorp is now shifting their focus to more premium motorcycles. They have a wide range of 200cc bikes in their portfolio which includes naked, fully faired, touring and adventure motorcycles. The Indian two-wheeler maker is also eyeing the 300cc segment.

It is yet to be seen if they introduce a new product in the 150cc segment. Even if they do, we can expect a value for money offering in the highly competitive segment.
