Honda Amaze earns BNCAP 5-star safety rating with strong adult protection

The third-generation Honda Amaze has earned a 5-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP (BNCAP) crash tests, making it the second sedan to be evaluated by the programme after the Maruti Dzire. The rating applies across all six variants of the new-generation model, which is sold alongside the previous-gen Amaze.

Adult Occupant Protection

In adult occupant protection (AOP), the Amaze achieved 28.33 out of 32 points, resulting in a 5-star rating.

  • In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, it scored 14.33/16, offering adequate to good protection for the driver and good protection for the front passenger.
  • In the side movable deformable barrier test, it received 14/16 points, with marginal chest protection for the driver.
  • The sedan was also rated “OK” in the side pole impact assessment.

Child Occupant Protection

The Amaze scored 40.81/49 in child occupant protection (COP), earning a 4-star rating.

  • Dynamic testing accounted for 23.81/24 points, with full marks for the 3-year-old dummy and a minor deduction for the 18-month-old dummy.
  • It achieved a perfect 12/12 score for child restraint system (CRS) installation.
  • In the vehicle assessment section, the score stood at 5/13.

Standard Safety Features

All variants of the third-gen Amaze come equipped with:

  • Six airbags
  • ISOFIX child seat mounts
  • ESC and ABS
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Seat belt reminders

Mid-level variants add a rear camera and blind-spot monitoring, while the top-spec version includes an ADAS safety suite.
