The bike comes to India via the CKD route

Honda has launched the CB500X in India with a price tag of Rs. 6,87,386/- (ex-showroom, Gurugram), today.

Bookings for the motorcycle that will be available in 2 colour options – Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic – are open from today at Honda’s premium big bike dealerships – BigWing Topline and BigWing, across India.

The motorcycle makes its way to the Indian market through the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route and takes styling cues from the Africa Twin.

Featuring full LED lighting, the Honda CB500X has a pleasing design with a butch front section and a slim tail section. It also has a flyscreen and an upswept exhaust, while all of the necessary rider information is displayed through a negative display LCD screen.

Powered by a 471cc parallel-twin engine that is good for a maximum of 47 HP at 8500 RPM and 43.2 Nm at 6500 RPM, the CB500X comes with a 6-speed gearbox with assist/slipper clutch. The engine is mounted to the diamond-shaped steel-tube mainframe.

Riding on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, the bike is equipped with 41 mm front forks and a rear monoshock with 9-stage preload adjustment. While the ground clearance is at 181 mm, the seat height is 830 mm.

Braking duties are carried over by 310 mm front and 240 mm rear disc brakes, and there is dual channel ABS as well.

Moreover, the Honda CB500X price also gets customers Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) tech and Honda Ignition Security System (HISS) theft deterrent.
