Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 have been spotted yet again in production-ready form hinting at an earlier launch date than expected.

Husqvarna Svartpilen Vitpilen 401 Spotted In India
The Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 share a major number of parts with each other

Just a few days back, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 were spied on test on the roads of Pune, Maharashtra. However, one couldn’t make out the minute details as picture quality left a lot to be desired. The production-spec Huskies have been spotted in Pune again and the shots making rounds on the internet are clearer this time. While we can see a rugged black livery on the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, the Vitpilen 401 spotted alongside features a white paint scheme which makes it look more attractive in comparison. The two motorcycles are going to be produced at Bajaj’s Chakan factory to arrive at a competitive price tag.

By design, the Svartpilen 401 is a scrambler and the Vitpilen 401 is a cafe racer. Besides sharing a lot of parts with each other, the duo borrows their powertrain, chassis and other mechanical components from the popular KTM Duke 390. The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 comes with a single-piece handlebar, luggage mount on the fuel tank and off-road tyres with knobby tread pattern. On the other hand, the Vitpilen 401 features normal road-going tyres, clip-on handlebars and minimalist bodywork. Visual differentiation between the two is so intense that one would be hard pressed to tell that both of them are essentially the same underneath.

Powering the motorcycles is a 373.3cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled and fuel-injected motor borrowed from the Duke 390 which has been praised a lot in the country for its stellar performance. Astride the Katoom, this engine puts out 44.1 PS of power and 37 Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch. Besides a single-pod fully-digital instrument console and a clean tail section, both the machines will come with ride-by-wire tech and ABS as well. Going by the recent developments, we expect Husqvarna to launch the motorcycles in India ahead of the anticipated 2020 timeline.
