Hyundai to hold an event on 16th January for the Creta facelift

Hyundai Creta facelift is likely to launch on 16th January. The South Korean carmaker has sent out a Block Your Date invitation for an ‘upcoming event’, which is most likely to be the unveiling event for the new Creta.

It is yet to be known if the event is about unveiling the new Creta or the actual launch of the car with price announcement. We have been spotting multiple prototypes of the updated car of late in India and in some international markets.

Unlike the facelift that was launched recently in some countries with Tucson inspired parametric grille, the new India-specific facelift will be completely different. It will follow the brand’s new design direction which we have recently seen with the new Hyundai Santa Fe and the Exter with squarish design elements.

The same treatment will be given to the Creta facelift offering H-sharped DRLs up front with newly designed grille along with updated bumpers, alloy wheels and rear profile. The interior will get mild tweaks to make it look fresh and will be offered with new features to keep up with the competition, specially the newly launched Kia Seltos.

It will be getting ADAS tech along with new features like 360 degree camera, dashcam, high resolution instrument cluster, etc. Even the upholstery is likely to get a new colour scheme along with new materials.

Hyundai will be offering three engine options with the new Creta. It will be updated to the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine along with the existing 1.5-litre NA petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options. All three engines will be offered with both automatic and manual transmission options.

With the new Hyundai Creta facelift launch, there will be some heat in the competition. It will put a big impact on its rivals that include the Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Tata Harrier and the likes.
