Hyundai Grand i10

Expanding its base in emerging markets, Hyundai has finally made its Mexican debut after much delay in an agreement with the Chrysler Group. The South Korean car maker launched three new models in the country which include the Grand i10 hatchback, ix35 crossover and Elantra sedan models. Hyundai will be selling the cars through a dealer network comprising of 20 points, 12 of which will be located in Mexico City.

The made in India Hyundai Grand i10 will be exported from India and is powered by a 1.2-litre 88 HP engine paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Grand i10 comes loaded with goodies such as fog lights, air-con, Bluetooth and USB connectivity; reverse parking assist, front airbags and much more. None of the versions get ABS on offer though. The Grand i10 will be available in GL and GLS trims, while the prices start at around 1,31,900 Mexican Pesos (Rs. 6.07 lakhs).

Hyundai Elantra

The Hyundai Elantra comes with a 1.8-litre engine that produces 145 HP of power and is paired to manual and automatic transmission options. The sedan gets leather seats and leather-wrapped steering wheel, automatic air-con; keyless entry, push-button start, cruise control, HID headlights and automatic lighting headlights. In terms of safety, the Elantra comes loaded with six airbags, stability control, ABS with EBD. The sedan will be available in four trims namely GLS, GLS Premium, Limited and Limited Tech variant with prices starting at 2,34,500 Mexican Pesos (Rs. 10.8 lakhs) for the base variant and up to 2,97,900 Mexican Pesos (Rs. 13.7 lakhs) for the top end variant.

Hyundai ix35 Mexico

Lastly, Hyundai also launched the ix35 compact SUV crossover with a 2.0-litre engine producing 152 HP of power, mated to 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions and is only available as a front-wheel drive model. The top end variant gets leather seats, cruise control, panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, dual zone air conditioning, light and rain sensors and LED daytime running lights. You also get dual front and side airbags, curtain airbags along with ABS, EBD and ESC. Prices for the ix35 start at 2,79,900 Mexican Pesos (Rs. 12.9 lakhs) in Mexico. Hyundai is offering a warranty of 5 years or 1,00,000 kms on all the three vehicles.
