2026 Hyundai Venue Bookings

Hyundai Venue diesel automatic becomes more accessible with new HX8 variant

Hyundai has expanded the Venue lineup in India with the introduction of a new HX8 diesel automatic variant, priced at Rs. 13.70 lakhs (ex-showroom). The addition makes the diesel automatic powertrain more accessible, as it was previously limited to the top-spec HX10 trim.

Until now, buyers interested in the diesel automatic option had to opt for the HX10 variant priced at Rs. 15.51 lakhs. With the new HX8 trim, the entry point for the diesel automatic configuration becomes Rs. 1.81 lakh lower.

The launch also coincides with the latest-generation Venue crossing over 1 lakh bookings in India since its introduction in November last year.

The HX8 sits just below the top variant in the Venue lineup and retains most of the key comfort and convenience features. Equipment includes ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, a 4-way powered driver’s seat, sunroof, automatic climate control, leatherette upholstery and 16-inch alloy wheels. The compact SUV also gets connected car technology with OTA updates, drive and traction modes and paddle shifters.

However, compared to the flagship HX10 variant, the HX8 misses out on certain premium features. These include Level 2 ADAS, front and side parking sensors, an electrochromic IRVM, dual 12.3-inch curved displays, and a Bose eight-speaker sound system. Instead, the HX8 comes with a 10.25-inch infotainment system paired with a 4.2-inch colour TFT instrument display.

Under the hood, the Venue diesel uses a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 116 HP and 250 Nm of torque. In the automatic version, the engine is paired with a 6-speed torque converter gearbox, while a 6-speed manual transmission remains available across a broader range of variants.

The Hyundai Venue range in India is currently priced between Rs. 7.99 lakhs and Rs. 15.51 lakhs (ex-showroom). In the compact SUV segment, it competes with models such as the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet and Skoda Kylaq.

With the addition of the HX8 diesel automatic variant, Hyundai aims to broaden the appeal of the Venue by offering the diesel-automatic combination at a more accessible price point.
