Jeep India has introduced the Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition in the country at a starting price of Rs. 36.05 lakhs (ex-showroom). The limited-run model has been launched to mark the brand’s 85th anniversary and will be restricted to just 85 units.
Bookings for the special edition SUV have commenced through Jeep dealerships and the company’s official website.
The 85th Anniversary Edition is based on the top-spec Overland variant and receives a few cosmetic updates to distinguish it from the standard model. These include exclusive 85th Anniversary badges on the front doors and tailgate, gloss black alloy wheels with special centre caps, and a choice of five exterior colours: Pearl White, Techno Metallic Green, Velvet Red, Grigio Magnesio and Brilliant Black.
Inside, the SUV gets gold-finished dashboard accents along with a new ambient lighting package. Buyers can also opt for anniversary-themed accessory packages that include carpet floor mats, exclusive decal kits, additional ambient lighting and an illuminated panoramic sunroof package.
Jeep has also introduced Stellantis’ CARA AI voice assistant on the Meridian with this update. The AI-powered assistant supports voice commands in 52 languages, including several Indian languages, and can be used for navigation, weather updates, phone calls, music playback and selected vehicle functions.
In addition to the anniversary edition, the CARA AI assistant has also been added to the regular Meridian Limited (O) variant.
Mechanically, the Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition remains unchanged from the standard Overland variant. It continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine producing 170 HP and 350 Nm of torque.
The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, while buyers can also choose an optional four-wheel-drive (4×4) system.
