The Z900RS gets a LED headlamp, multi-function display housed between the twin-pod instrument console and Kawasaki’s first tuned exhaust note. The screen features a fuel gauge, range, current and average fuel consumption, coolant temperature, external temperature and a gear position indicator. The display can be switched off to give the instrument cluster a more retro look.

Powering the Z900RS is a 948cc inline-4 fuel-injected and liquid-cooled motor that produces 111 PS of power at 8500 RPM and 98.5 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. The powertrain comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Electronic rider aids include KRTC (Kawasaki Traction Control) and ABS. The vehicle comes shod with 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 120-section tyre for the front wheel and 180-section rubber for the rear.

Suspension duties are via 41 mm inverted forks up front and a horizontal back-link monoshock at the rear. Braking is taken care by dual 300 mm discs up front and a single 250 mm petal disc at the rear. The Z900RS can hold up to 17-litres of fuel and tips the scales at 215 kgs. The Z900RS has been made available for the Indian market on a bookings-only basis. So, the company and its dealers will not stock up on the motorcycle.
