There are several interesting design touches seen on the spied Sonet

Kia Sonet has been spied in production guise ahead of its global debut on 7th August this year.

First seen at this year’s Auto Expo, the Sonet, in concept form was a stylish compact SUV. Now, the Kia Sonet spied version gives us a somewhat clear picture about the car.

The front of the car is not present among the spy images, but we have seen teaser images if it. So, we will have to start with the fenders that have blinkers integrated in them, while on the sides, we can see a lot of plastic cladding.

The shoulder line rises steeply once past the rear glass and integrates well with the rear quarter glass.

At the back, we can clearly see the ribbed roof, and the rear windscreen is flanked on either side by blacked out parts which make the rear glass look wider, while integrating with the C-pillar.

The brake lights are LED units having twin lamps with a signature strip running atop them. Also, a red strip connects the light clusters situated on either side, but is not illuminated. Sitting on the top is a spoiler with additional brake lights.

Below the left tail light is the Sonet badging, go on, squint a bit more and you can see it. Also present are reflectors, a crease that enhances visual width, a substantial rear bumper with faux skid plates finished in silver.

Seen with steel wheels, the Kia Sonet spied variant could be entry-level and higher-spec trims might get certain visual differences like a black roof, among others.

Only one picture of the interior is available and we can see a rear AC vent, a flat rear bench and decent space between the front and rear seats.

Expect the Sonet to come with certain features as seen on the concept like the signature grille, headlights with LED illuminators, faux air scoops near the air dam and at the bumper edges.

Inside, a modern infotainment system with tonnes of connectivity options, a modern instrument console and a sunroof at least on top variants will be offered.

When launched, the Kia Sonet will be the automaker’s third vehicle to go on sale in India after the popular Seltos and Carnival people carrier.

It is expected to come with the same set of powertrains like the Hyundai Venue and thus the Kia Sonet will get the iMT gearbox.
