Mahindra has been readying the facelifted versions of the Quanto and Genio and the pick-up truck has finally been caught off guard.

Mahindra Genio Facelift Front
The front fascia is all-new, gets major styling changes

Last week we saw pictures of a heavily camouflaged Genio facelift model and now the vehicle has been completely revealed without any sort of camouflage. The Genio is based on the Xylo and as evident from the pictures, the vehicle has got very significant changes to its front fascia that make it look very fresh as compared to the previous model which had a very bland styling. The grille gets five tooth-like elements while the headlights are now smoked.

The front bumper has also been completely redesigned and it gets a white trim on the bottom part. The bonnet has also got a new design and it looks beefier than before. The Genio has also got a new shade of blue that we see here. Apart from blue, the Genio is offered in only three other colours – white, brown and silver. The Genio comes in two versions – two-door and four-door. The side profile of the vehicle is largely unchanged and the rear will also be mostly unchanged.

There won’t be any mechanical changes on the Genio and it will be powered by the same 2.5-litre, mDI CRDE, four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 75 horses and 220 Nm of torque. It is highly likely that Mahindra will tweak the engine for better fuel efficiency and will also incorporate their micro hybrid start-stop system in the Genio. The export version of the Genio will get a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine churning out 120 HP of power and 280 Nm of torque.

The Indian model of the Mahindra Genio doesn’t get a 4WD system but the export model does get an option of a 4WD variant. Since the Genio has been finally caught without camouflage, we can expect Mahindra to launch it in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the Quanto facelift is also expected at the 2016 Auto Expo.
