Mahindra MPV India launch scheduled in early 2018, expected to be priced in Rs. 10-15 lakhs range.

Mahindra U321 Front Three-Quarter
Mahindra could plonk a petrol motor as well on the new MPV

The upcoming Mahindra MPV codenamed U321 will be launched in the Indian market in the first quarter of 2018, it is likely to be unveiled at the Auto Expo. The vehicle has been spotted testing repeatedly and will be the first Mahindra MPV to have a monocoque construction. The spotted MPV has revealed typical MPV bits like the relatively larger doors and windows, which make for an airy cabin and also easy ingress and egress. The car also features Mahindra’s traditional seven-slat grille, projector headlamps with LED DRLs and rear disc brakes.

Having three rows, the Mahindra MPV will come with the option of a 7-seater or 8-seater and the automaker could also offer captain seats in the second row. The car is expected to get an all-black dashboard, a large touchscreen infotainment system and automatic climate control. This vehicle will be the first Mahindra to use the new mFalcon 1.6-litre diesel engine producing 130 horses. The new oil-burner is developed with SsangYong and is sure to find its way into future Mahindra cars as well.

The Mahindra MPV is expected to be priced in the Rs. 10-15 lakhs (ex-showroom) range and this pricing should slot it between the Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova Crysta.
