Mahindra REVA e2o Front

Mahindra Reva has silently updated the e2o lineup and the electric vehicle is now available with three variants on offer namely the T01, T2 Premium and T20 Premium+Quick2Charge. The T01 is essentially the base variant and comes void of any bells and whistles, while the power output has been reduced. The T01 comes with the same electric motor, but produces 19.8 BHP and 53.9 Nm of torque. While the power output is lower than the top-end variants, the torque level remains the same. The e2o T01 can hit a top speed of 75 km/hr and has a total range of 80 kms.

The mid-range e2o T2 and the top-end T20 on the other hand get better power output of 25.47 BHP from its electric motor. The models also gets a host of features including music system, reverse camera, electrical ORVMs and electric power steering on offer. Both the variants have a top speed of 81 km/hr, while the range is extended to 120 kms. However the top-end T20 variant also gets the Quick2Charge feature, which can provide full charge in less than 60 minutes compared to the 5 hours of charging period on the T2 variant.

Mahindra recently announced that the e2o will get the electric power steering as standard, but hasn’t launched it yet. The company website states that prices for the electric power steering variants will be announced shortly and we expect the launch for the power steering equipped models to be around the corner. Apparently, even existing owners will have the option to upgrade their e2o’s to a power steering unit, but at an extra cost. Mahindra Reva has also promised a four-door version of the e2o, but the timeline for the launch is not known as yet. The automaker recently expanded its presence from India to Bhutan and Burma, where the e2o competes against the Nissan Leaf in this niche segment.
