Mahindra and Mahindra launched the Scorpio automatic at Bangalore yesterday. The New Scorpio Automatic boasts of a 6 speed gearbox to woo the amercian market with a powerful 2.2 litre mHawk engine. Mahindra reveals that the Scorpio AT would be available in VLS and VLX variants and would cost between Rs 85,000 to Rs 90,000 more than the existing manual model.

According to Company Officials the new automatic version is equipped with in-built intelligent driving modes for an effortless drive and provides a wide array of smart features, giving the Scorpio a greater competitive edge in its segment and provides greater vehicle-control in a variety of conditions like stop-and-go traffic, slippery roads to steep inclines. The company has started production at the Nashik plant and does not have any fixed targets as far as the sale is concerned.

The primary reason for launching the AT version was to attract the american market and with advanced features and the 6 speed automatic gearbox, Mahindra is confident of impressing enthusiasts worldwide. But just how good the Scorpio AT will prove to be, only a test drive will tell.
