After Volkswagen, Toyota and Hyundai, India’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, joins the crossover bandwagon with it’s all new Celerio Cross.

The minor tweaks add to the looks of the Celerio Cross

The Maruti Celerio Cross comes into sight as the muscular sibling of the Celerio hatchback which was launched in India in February 2015. The all-around body cladding gives this new crossover more definitive stance and presence on the road. The car basically is developed on the same platform as the Celerio, though the suspension setup appears to be tweaked slightly to increase the ground clearance.

As compared to the Celerio hatchback, the crossover version looks better. The front bumper is redesigned to include a black section at the bottom. Also, the crossover version gets black side mirrors with turn indicators instead of the standard body-colored ones. The crossover segment has become denser than ever and one can expect more launches from other manufacturers as well. The crossover space will soon be the new battleground for automakers in India.
