Suzuki Dzire Hybrid Launched In Philippines At PHP 920,000 (Rs. 13.9 Lakh), Expected To Launch In India Next Year
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire has been launched in the Philippines. It is known as the Suzuki Dzire Hybrid. It should be noted that this model is offered with a hybrid engine and a CVT transmission. The Dzire hybrid starts for PHP 920,000 or Rs. 13.90 Lakh. It is expected to launch in India as well. Let’s take a closer look.
Engine & Transmission
The Dzire hybrid is powered by the Z12E 1.2-litre naturally aspirated 3-cylinder engine. It is paired with a 12V Hybrid system. The battery pack is of 0.072 kWh, sending 2.93 HP to the front wheels. The electric motor should provide torque assist and improve fuel efficiency as well as facilitate energy recuperation.
The engine produces 81 HP and 111.7 Nm of torque, which are identical figures when compared to the non-hybrid version. However, it is only offered with a CVT transmission. The fuel economy figures haven’t been revealed, so the fuel economy gain cannot be interpreted at present.
Fuel Efficiency Of Maruti Dzire In India
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is advertised with a fuel economy of 24.79 kmpl with a petrol manual. The CNG option returns an efficiency of 33.73 km/kg with a manual transmission. The Dzire returns an economy of 25.71 kmpl when the Petrol engine is paired with the automatic transmission.
Differences
The Suzuki Dzire Hybrid offers mostly the same feature list as in India. However, a sunroof isn’t available in the global version, which is offered in India. The Dzire is also converted to left-hand drive for the global market. The colours are also similar, but Nutmeg Brown and Bluish Black remain exclusive to the Indian market.
Features & Trim Levels
The standard features include a 9-inch free-standing infotainment system, push button start, keyless entry, cruise control, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, alloy wheels, LED headlights and tail lights, chrome belt line and much more. In the Philippines, the Dzire is offered in two trim levels, i.e. GL and GLX.
Outlook
Maruti Suzuki is readying hybrid versions of the Baleno, Swift, Fronx, etc. The brand has also been spotted testing the hybrid versions of the Swift in India. Maruti Suzuki has been speculated to keep the hybrid powertrain combination for the global markets. However, we expect the Hybrid powertrains to launch in India if there is a sizeable demand, potentially next year.
