Maruti S-Presso Spied In Blue
The S-Presso gets C-shaped tail lamps surrounding the side turn indicators

Just days after the launch of its new premium MPV, the XL6, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for its next big launch of the year, the S-Presso on 30th September 2019. The car has been previously spied without camouflage, but a new image reveals the car in a bright blue colour. It follows an upright stance and gets squared headlamps. The S-Presso gets C-shaped tail lamps surrounding the side turn indicators. A view from the rear gives away its high ground clearance and its SUV-inspired silhouette.

The S-Presso boasts a prominent rear bumper, black side cladding, black window line and a compact rear windshield. Loosely based on the Concept Future S, this car is slightly more conventional and omits the Alto and Celerio’s horizontal tail lamps. It also reminds of the quirky Suzuki XBee with its boxy nature and squared panels. The horizontal LED daytime running lights are placed just below the headlamps while the turn signals are positioned above the front fenders.

The Maruti S-Presso will come with a BS6 compliant 1.0-litre, K10B, 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 68 PS and 90 Nm of torque. This engine will be the sole offering with the S-Presso and is coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission. An AMT option will be offered on the VXi and VXi+ trims. We expect a small drop in fuel efficiency while transitioning from BS4 to BS6.

Since Maruti Suzuki is building this car on a budget, features like a push-button start, automatic climate control, fog lamps, reverse parking camera and alloy wheels are given a miss. Prices of the S-Presso are expected to be between Rs. 3.3 – 4.5 lakhs (ex-showroom).
