The MG Hector was launched in India in 2019 and it later spawned the Hector Plus as well. The vehicle received small updates including special editions now and then but fundamentally it has remained unchanged over these years.
JSW MG Motor India will now be launched an updated version of the Hector on 15th December. The vehicle has been teased and it is expected to get a tweaked grille, redesigned bumpers, new wheels, tweaked lights and maybe a new colour option.
On the inside, the layout will remain the same as before but the vehicle will get a newer colour for the upholstery, updated infotainment system, etc. The vehicle is quite feature loaded already and all the equipment will be carried forward.
Mechanically, no changes are expected as such. It will continue with the same 2.0-litre diesel engine with a 6-speed MT. It is unlikely that MG will launch a diesel automatic option. The petrol engine is a 1.5-litre turbo unit and that’s currently offered with manual and CVT options.
The MG Hector gives rivalry to the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Harrier, Hyundai Alcazar, among many other SUVs.
