MG Motor India opens bookings for its M9 electric MPV at Rs. 51,000/-
JSW MG Motor India has officially commenced bookings for its upcoming luxury electric MPV, the MG M9. Customers can reserve the vehicle through the company’s premium ‘MG Select’ dealership network with a booking amount of Rs. 51,000/-.
Booking Details and Availability
Bookings for the MG M9 are being accepted via the brand’s dedicated MG Select website, aligning with the automaker’s strategy to position the vehicle within its upscale retail network. While an official launch was originally scheduled for March 2025, it appears that timeline has been pushed back. Nonetheless, the model is expected to debut with an estimated price tag of around Rs. 65 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Exterior Dimensions and Design
In terms of proportions, the MG M9 stands out as one of the largest vehicles in its segment. Measuring 5200 mm in length, 2000 mm in width and 1800 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3200 mm, it is notably larger than rivals such as the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire.
The design emphasises a boxy, slab-sided silhouette typical of large MPVs. At the front, the M9 features a distinct LED lighting setup with slim DRLs positioned above the main headlamps. Chrome accents stretch across the front bumper, while the rear design includes connected tail-lights with vertical elements and a roof-mounted spoiler housing a brake light.
Interior Highlights and Features
The cabin of the MG M9 is spacious and designed to prioritize comfort and luxury. It is available in both 7- and 8-seat configurations and comes equipped with an extensive list of features. Among these are dual sunroofs—one for the front and a panoramic unit for rear passengers—along with 64-colour ambient lighting.
Passenger comfort is further enhanced with powered seats in both rows, offering heating, ventilation and massage functions. The second row also includes fold-out ottoman-style footrests, while power sliding doors and rear-seat entertainment screens contribute to the premium experience. Powertrain and Range
Internationally known as the MG Mifa 9, the M9 is powered by a 90kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor driving the front wheels. The setup delivers 245 HP and 350 Nm of torque. According to MG, the vehicle offers a WLTP-certified range of up to 430 km on a single charge.
