Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Anniversary Edition

HM-Mitsubishi launched the Pajero Sport in India almost two years back in March 2012 by pricing it at Rs. 23.53 lakhs. The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is powered by a 2.5-litre, common-rail diesel engine, producing 175 BHP of power mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Mitsubishi has loaded the Pajero Sport with many goodies like Super Select 4WD, leather seats, dual SRS airbags, MP3 player, 265/65 R17 alloy wheels, barometer, altimeter, projector headlights, ABS with EBD, rear wiper and parking sensors. The Pajero Sport is also very good when it comes to off-roading because of its high ground clearance of 215 mm.

Even though the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is a very capable vehicle, it fails to generate as many sales as its chief competitor Toyota Fortuner owing to Mitsubishi’s poor after-sales support and lack of confidence of buyers in choosing a Mitsubishi vehicle. Since the demand for automatic vehicles is growing these days, HM-Mitsubishi wants to cash in on the demand by launching an automatic variant of the Pajero Sport. The automatic variant of this vehicle would give some good competition to the Fortuner and buyers would get one more choice to add to their car-buying list.

HM-Mitsubishi’s future in India is of a major concern and this is the biggest downside for those who are even considering buying a vehicle from the company. What worries people the most is the unavailability of spare parts at reasonable prices. The company had losses which were greater than its actual net worth and hence company officials are looking to get support from the West Bengal government to continue smooth operations in India. The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport AT will be launched during the next fiscal and it will be accompanied by another vehicle from Mitsubishi’s stable, likely to be the new Outlander.
