The stunt modified Yamaha MT-25 gets a new custom exhaust unit that is lighter than the stock unit and improves the power-to-weight ratio on the bike with power coming from the same 249cc twin-cylinder unit.

The Indonesian market loves quarter-litre motorcycles and certainly appreciates them in all shapes and sizes. After the extremely positive feedback that the R25 received in the South East Asian country, Yamaha worked on the street-fighter version of the bike for a year and christened it as the ‘MT-25’, which was launched in Indonesia just last week. Likely to make it to Indian shores in the near future, new pictures of the Yamaha MT-25 have emerged online from the launch event where the bike was captured doing stunts.

As seen in the images and video, the modified stunt-spec Yamaha MT-25 gets a new aftermarket Hitman exhaust by RC Koshien and is officially offered by Yamaha’s Parts Operation Division (POD). The said unit is not only smaller but also lighter than the stock exhaust that results in improved power-to-weight ratio. Save for the new exhaust, the stunt modified MT-25 gets no other changes. In its stock guise, power comes from a 249cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 36 PS and 22.6 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

Compared to the track intimate R25, the Yamaha MT-25 features a host of changes including the new wide handlebar replacing clip-ons, new air shrouds on either side of the fuel tank, engine cowl as well as silver finished grab rails. The tail section has been completely carried over from the R25. Make sure to check out the bike doing some crazy stunts in the video below with the rider pulling wheelies and stoppies with ease while also doing burnouts. For the Indonesian market, the MT-25 is priced at an Indian equivalent of Rs. 2.20 lakhs.
