Honda Unveils New Global Emblem Strategy for ICE and Electric Motorcycles
At EICMA 2025 in Milan, Honda Motor Co. revealed a bold new visual identity strategy for its global two-wheeler lineup. One that distinctly separates its electric and internal combustion (ICE) motorcycles and scooters. Under the new system, electric motorcycles will adopt a dedicated “Honda” wordmark in a new font, identical to the one already used across Honda’s electric automobile lineup. Meanwhile, ICE-powered motorcycles will continue to carry the iconic Wing emblem, albeit with new design variations depending on the motorcycle segment.
A New Identity for Honda’s Electric Era
As part of its global electrification push, Honda will now unify all its electric motorcycles and scooters under the new “Honda” product mark. This new identity is clean, modern, and minimalist, which is intended to represent Honda’s transition into an electric future rooted in innovation, sustainability, and human-centric mobility. The first model to debut this new emblem will be the upcoming Honda WN7, the brand’s first global electric motorcycle, unveiled at EICMA 2025. The same branding will extend across all future electric models as Honda expands its EV presence from Asia into Europe and other global markets starting in 2026.
The “Flagship Wing” – A New Badge for Prestige ICE Models
While Honda’s electric lineup gets a brand-new identity, the company is also reimagining how its ICE motorcycles will be visually represented, especially its premium and performance-oriented models. The classic Wing logo, synonymous with Honda’s motorcycling heritage since the 1940s, will remain the mark of all ICE-powered bikes. However, a newly designed “Honda Flagship Wing” emblem will now distinguish the brand’s flagship Fun models, including icons such as the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, Gold Wing, and Rebel 1100.
The new emblem features a simplified silver Wing rendered in a monochrome palette, replacing the traditional red-and-silver design. This modern interpretation is intended to harmonize with a variety of color schemes while symbolizing progress, sophistication, and continuity. In keeping with Honda’s sustainability goals, the emblem also utilizes eco-friendly materials that reflect the brand’s evolving environmental philosophy. The Honda Flagship Wing made its world premiere at EICMA 2025 on the V3R 900 E-Compressor Prototype, representing the next chapter in Honda’s high-performance engineering. From 2026 onward, this emblem will be gradually rolled out across all of Honda’s premium motorcycle brands worldwide.
A Unified Future with Dual Identities
Honda’s dual-badge strategy perfectly encapsulates its broader vision, to honour its legacy in internal combustion while embracing the possibilities of electrification. The clean wordmark for EVs signals innovation and transformation, while the redesigned Wing embodies timelessness and mechanical passion. Together, they form a cohesive design language that differentiates, yet unites, Honda’s two-wheeled future whether electric or combustion, commuter or flagship, every Honda remains built around the joy of mobility.
