2022 Maruti Swift Unveil
This might be how the next-generation Swift will look like

Maruti Suzuki is set to globally unveil the next-generation Swift by July 2022 and development of the hatchback is well in progress.

To be underpinned by a revised version of the HEARTECT platform on which the current-generation model is based, the new Swift will likely feature evolutionary design changes.

Thus, the 2022 Swift will carry the design traits of the current model while featuring new elements like an enlarged radiator grille, sleek new headlights, and revised tail lamps.

There should be new ORVMs, a strong shoulder line and the hatchback will be designed to have less drag in order to be even more efficient as global emissions regulations are to get even more stringent.

The render shown above, might well be the real deal and if that is the case, then the Swift will come with a revised front end that looks more sharper, while the side profile is pretty much the same, save for the pronounced shoulder line and a different crease at the lower half of the doors.

Inside, the dashboard will feature a new layout and of course, there is expected to be a larger touchscreen for the updated infotainment system. Connected car tech is expected to be offered along with plenty of other features that one expects in a hatchback these days.

A 1.2-litre petrol motor will power the car and will also come with mild hybrid assistance to keep eco-friendly lawmakers happy, while transmission options will include a manual and an automatic.

However, the future of the Swift Sport variant is currently undecided. If it continues to stay on sale, expect it to feature a 1.4-litre turbo petrol motor with mild-hybrid assistance and be equipped with a good old 6-speed manual.

While the 2022 Maruti Swift unveil will take place globally by July next year, we expect Maruti Suzuki to bring the new-generation hatchback to India only by 2023, by the time the current model’s life cycle comes to an end.

For now, Maruti is working on launching the Swift facelift in India. It will come with the firm’s new DualJet 1.2-litre petrol engine that will produce 90 PS of maximum power and 113 Nm of torque and return better fuel economy.
