Nissan Magnite Facelift Prototype

Nissan Magnite facelift spotted testing for the first time, launch later this year

Nissan Magnite facelift has been long overdue for launch. The competition is getting quite intense and the Japanese carmaker needs to up their game to compete in this trending segment of compact SUVs.

A test mule of the Nissan Magnite facelift has been spotted recently by MotorBeamer Suraj Sharma. It is heavily camouflaged, hiding the new cosmetic tweaks on the vehicle. This particular prototype was left hand drive and they might be testing it for the export markets.

India launch is expected to happen later this year, by December. Nissan will offer new styling changes, hopefully these are substantial to make it look fresh. The front profile is likely to get a new grille design following the latest global Nissan DNA, along with refreshed headlights and new bumper.

The side profile will get new alloy wheels while the rear might come with small changes like updated tail lamps, refreshed bumper and tailgate. We can expect some fresh new colour options as well with the Nissan Magnite facelift.

The interior is likely to remain more or less the same but the dashboard could get slight tweaks and new colour tones. The updated model is expected to come with more features like a larger touchscreen infotainment system with the latest UI, all digital cluster with new detailing, wireless charger, front seat ventilation, auto AC with rear AC vents, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electronic sunroof, etc.

Mechanically, the new Nissan Magnite will remain unchanged and it will continue to be powered by the same engine options – 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol and 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit. The naturally aspirated engine comes with 5-speed MT and AMT options while the turbo unit offers 5-speed MT and CVT automatic transmission options.

Since Nissan will update the Magnite, we can expect a similar move from Renault with Kiger later this year. The new model will compete with the likes of Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and the likes.
