Nissan has officially confirmed that they will be unveiling the India bound Sunny this Wednesday (3rd August, 2011). The Japanese automaker will also disclose the name which they plan to use for the Sunny in India. The company cannot use the name Sunny as the rights below to Bajaj. Hopefully though, they won’t use Almera either. The upcoming C-segment contender from Nissan is based on the V-platform and has very different styling compared to the Micra. The interiors of the V-platform sedan are very similar to the Micra which is a good thing, as the Micra has excellent quality.

Nissan India’s Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Kiminobu Tokuyama will unveil the car to the media. He will also disclose other vital information on the V-platform sedan which is said to rival Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Maruti SX4, Ford Fiesta and Hyundai Verna. Competition in the upper end of the C-segment is only going to get hotter.
