Its styling has been worked upon by Kia’s design network in Korea, Germany, the USA, and China

Kia has revealed the official images of the 2022 model year Sportage which has been given a thorough overhaul to look modern and sport the latest technology.

The fifth-generation Sportage’s styling is based on the Korean brand’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy that was seen on the pure-electric EV6.

According to Kia, the new Sportage’s exterior styling challenges design norms. It gets crisp lines and muscular surfaces where necessary, providing it with a dynamic presence.

Upfront, there is a black grille stretching across the width of the ‘face’, striking headlamps with boomerang-shaped DRLs, and a pronounced bumper.

The side profile of the 2022 Kia Sportage is typical of an SUV. However it gets a rather narrow window area, a chrome beltline that kicks up onto the rear and the roof can also be had in a contrasting black colour.

At the rear, the all-new Sportage has broad shoulders, roof spoiler, sharp and split tail lamps, and a rugged bumper design.

Inside, the dashboard is dominated by the panoramic curved display, while finely detailed air vents, touchscreen pad with a controller and shift-by-wire transmission dial are also present.

Kia claims to have used high-quality materials in the cabin that can be had in vibrant colour options and added that the new Sportage will get the latest tech.

Moreover, now Kia will also sell the Sportage X-Line that features a curved roof rack, different bumper and side sills. On the inside, customers can choose between a signature sage green or black seats, as well as quilting and black metal wood trim.

With the 2022 Kia Sportage images released, expect information about the SUV’s powertrain and variants to be revealed soon. The global market launch of the vehicle will take place later this year.
