Fiat has started sending the Aegea sedan to dealerships in Turkey before the commencement of sales which are expected to begin in November.
Fiat will soon be replacing the Linea with the all new Aegea in more than forty countries to improve sales further. The sedan was revealed at the Istanbul Motor Show this May post which it received rave reviews from most for its striking looks. It looks much more contemporary than the car it replaces and this will help the Italian brand sell the vehicle in better numbers. The Aegea will soon be available in Turkey and sales are likely to commence in other countries too sometime after that. However, an India launch date hasn’t been announced as of now and we expect the company to launch it by 2018.
Designed at the FCA Style Centre in Turkey with a team of 2000 people working on it for three years, the Fiat Aegea does look worth all that effort and it shows that a lot of thinking has gone into the build. The looks of the sedan exude class yet look sporty. The production spec car which was recently spotted at a dealership sported different alloy wheels than the ones on the display vehicle at the Istanbul Motor Show. The Aegea has grown in size too and now measures 4500 mm in length and gets a massive 510-litre boot. The exterior design of the vehicle seems to have taken inspiration from the latest Chrysler 200.
Coming to the interiors, the Fiat Aegea gets a totally new design and gets decent number of features too. Equipped with a 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the car also gets an option of satellite navigation and reversing camera. Engine options will be carried over from the current Linea itself and power figures will range from 95 PS to 120 PS with the most frugal engine delivering a staggering 25 km/l. Built at the Tofas factory in Bursa, Turkey, the new Aegea will be exported to various countries and at present there are no plans of producing the car elsewhere.
