Renault will be launching the Duster compact SUV tomorrow in the Indian market and the brochure has made its way to the world wide web. The brochure reveals all the details about the upcoming Renault Duster, including the variants, features and specifications. The Renault Duster will be available in 6 variants – petrol (RxE, RxL), diesel 85PS (RxE, RxL) and diesel 110 PS (RxL, RxZ). All the variants feature 215/65/R16 tyres with only the top end RxZ variant getting alloy wheels as standard. The Duster carries a 50-litre fuel tank and has a massive 205 mm ground clearance.
The Renault Duster will be offered with a 1.6-litre petrol engine which produces 102 PS of peak power at 5850 RPM and 145 Nm of peak torque at 3750 RPM. This petrol engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and returns 13.24 km/l. There diesel is the 1.5-litre dCi engine which is offered in two set of tunes – one producing 85 PS of power at 3750 and 200 Nm of torque at 1900, while the other is the more powerful version producing 110 PS of power at 3900 RPM and 248 Nm of torque at 2250 RPM. The former is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, returning 20.46 km/l, while the latter is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, returning 19.01 km/l.
Renault will price the Duster range at a starting price of Rs. 6.99 lakhs for the base petrol while the top end diesel will be priced at Rs. 10.99 lakhs (all price estimates are ex-showroom, Delhi). Renault is offering an optional pack for the RxL 85 PS diesel variant, which will consist of many features seen in the RxZ 110 PS diesel variant. The 110 PS RxZ variant can also be brought with an optional leather pack. Renault dealers have already started taking bookings of the Duster and the company has successfully grabbed 1500 customers already.
