Renault Kiger Spied
It gets a unique headlight detailing and sharp front profile

Renault Kiger spied on test ahead of its launch in October 2020. The French carmaker stick to their timeline of introducing their new compact SUV during the festive season. Previously, Nissan was about to launch the Magnite compact SUV before Renault. Now the Magnite launch has been postponed.

Based on the same CMF-A+ platform as the Triber, the Kiger will share the same engine and transmission options as well. The split headlight and DRL setup looks inspired by Kwid but the detailing of 3-pod projector lamps is unique and premium.

It comes with automatic climate control system. There is push button start below the AC controls. The multi-function 3-spoke steering wheel gets controls on both the sides. There is a digital instrument cluster.

Renault will offer both 1.0-litre petrol and 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine options with the Kiger. The former will get AMT gearbox while the latter will get CVT auto transmission option. 5-speed manual will be offered as standard.

More specs and features of the Kiger will be revealed closer to the launch in October 2020.

The Kiger will compete with a range of compact SUVs in the market. It includes Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport, upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser and Nissan Magnite.
