The cost of ICE vehicles compared to EVs is still a concern for the company

Suzuki electric two-wheeler is still a while away. The future of electric mobility has started arriving and there are many contenders for the segment including new players and some of the oldest players of the 2-wheeler industry. However, Suzuki is not yet entering the bandwagon anytime soon.

The Japanese bike maker believes the journey of electric two-wheelers has not been consistent. The cost of acquisition of EVs compared to the ICE vehicles is still a big concern since the former is considerably high.

However, Suzuki has confirmed that they already have the technology ready. They say as and when the buyer is ready, they will be present in the market with their first EV.

The Japanese two-wheeler maker also hinted the Indian market back in 2019 about working on an electric vehicle. Since Suzuki is quite popular in the scooter segment and it’s a safe segment to start with, we believe the first EV out of their stable will be based on a scooter.

Ather is getting quite popular in the electric scooter space. Bajaj joined the bandwagon with their iconic name Chetak with an EV avatar. TVS too is present in the space with iQube. Hero MotoCorp is coming up with eMaestro.
