The Royal Enfield Bullet is more than just a motorcycle. For many riders, it’s a machine that has been part of family stories, road trips and memories for generations. Now, Royal Enfield has taken that legendary name and given it a bigger heart. Meet the all-new Bullet 650, the most powerful Bullet ever made. Priced at ₹3.65 lakh (ex-showroom), the motorcycle is now on sale in India in two colour options, Cannon Black and Battleship Blue.
At first glance, the Bullet 650 looks exactly how a Bullet should. It gets the familiar long silhouette, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, plenty of chrome and the classic bench seat that instantly reminds you of the older models. Royal Enfield hasn’t tried to reinvent the Bullet here. Instead, it has carefully modernised it while keeping all the details that enthusiasts love. The hand-painted gold pinstripes, winged tank badges and traditional styling make it look like a proper Bullet from every angle.
The biggest change sits beneath that iconic fuel tank. The Bullet 650 is powered by Royal Enfield’s 648cc parallel-twin engine, the same motor found in some of the brand’s most popular motorcycles. It produces 45 bhp and about 52 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch. In simple terms, this means the Bullet now has enough performance to feel comfortable on long highway rides while still being easy and relaxed to ride around town.
What makes the Bullet 650 special is that it doesn’t chase aggressive performance figures or sporty styling. Instead, it focuses on delivering a laid-back riding experience with plenty of character. The twin-cylinder engine is expected to offer smooth power delivery, effortless cruising and that deep exhaust note that many riders enjoy. The chrome peashooter exhausts not only look period-correct but should also add to the motorcycle’s old-school appeal.
Royal Enfield has also added a few modern touches without taking away from the motorcycle’s classic charm. The Bullet 650 gets an LED headlamp housed inside the traditional casquette, along with the signature tiger-eye pilot lamps that have been associated with Royal Enfield motorcycles for decades. The instrument cluster combines an analogue speedometer with a digital display that shows useful information like fuel level, gear position and service reminders. There’s even a USB Type-C charging port for charging your devices on the move.
Underneath, the motorcycle is built on a steel tubular frame and uses Showa suspension at both ends. A 19-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear wheel help maintain the classic Bullet stance, while dual-channel ABS comes standard for added safety. Despite packing a large twin-cylinder engine, Royal Enfield has worked to ensure that the motorcycle remains comfortable and confidence-inspiring for everyday riding as well as weekend getaways.
The arrival of the Bullet 650 feels like a natural next step for the iconic nameplate. Over the years, enthusiasts have often wondered what a bigger and more powerful Bullet would be like, and Royal Enfield has finally answered that question. The new motorcycle stays true to everything that made the Bullet famous while giving riders the performance and refinement of the brand’s successful 650cc platform. It’s old-school in its looks, modern in its engineering and could easily become the dream Royal Enfield for many loyal Bullet fans.
