Royal Enfield has been introducing ABS variants of its motorcycles for almost six moths now. The latest to join the ABS club is the Classic 350 Redditch.

The design of the Classic 350 Redditch takes inspiration from the motorcycles built in the Royal Enfield factory in Redditch, UK, in the 1950s. These motorcycles get brightly coloured tanks with the rest of the body being majorly all-black and chrome. The motorcycle is available in three colours – red, blue and green.

The Classic 350 Redditch gets the same engine as the rest of its brethren. It is powered by a 346cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 4-stroke engine mated to a 5-speed transmission. The motor makes 19.8 BHP of power at 5250 RPM and 28 Nm of torque at 4000 RPM.

The Classic 350 Redditch edition is priced Rs. 6000/- more than the non-ABS variant, making its price go up to Rs. 1.52 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

This move from Royal Enfield comes in after the government made ABS compulsory on all two-wheelers with engine capacity above 125cc, effective from 1st April 2019. The addition of this safety feature might help Royal Enfield rival against the recently launched Jawas better which are available with single-channel ABS only with the rear disc and dual-channel ABS variants only available from June 2019.
