Royal Enfield to update Continental GT 650 later this year
Royal Enfield is preparing an update for the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, with the refreshed model expected to arrive towards the end of the year. The move comes as the company also readies a larger 750cc parallel-twin motorcycle, which is anticipated to debut earlier in the year. However, the new 750 is not expected to replace the existing 650, with both models likely to be sold alongside each other.
The Continental GT 650 has been one of Royal Enfield’s strongest performers in the twin-cylinder lineup and has helped attract a younger customer base to the brand. Early indications suggest that the upcoming 750cc version will be positioned as a more premium offering, allowing the current 650 to continue serving its established segment with a more accessible price point.
For the 2026 update, the Continental GT 650 is expected to receive mechanical revisions beyond cosmetic changes. Reports suggest improvements to the suspension setup at both the front and rear, while retaining the existing telescopic fork and twin shock layout. There is also a possibility of an upgraded braking system, potentially including a twin-disc front arrangement, though this has not yet been officially confirmed.
The motorcycle is currently offered in multiple colour options with a choice of alloy or spoked wheels, priced between Rs. 3.53 lakhs and Rs. 3.82 lakhs (ex-showroom). The updated version could see a modest price increase when it arrives later this year, continuing Royal Enfield’s strategy of expanding its twin-cylinder portfolio while refreshing existing models.
