Skoda to introduce Kodiaq RS in India next year, which is a more sporty version of the SUV.
The Kodiaq is currently the only SUV in the Skoda India portfolio. It is available in two variants Style and L&K. The Czech carmaker recently introduced the Kodiaq Scout as well in India, which is a more rugged version of the SUV.
It is now confirmed that Skoda is planning to launch the sporty Kodiaq RS version in India next year. The performance oriented version is likely to launch after April 2020. It will be imported to India as a CBU via the 5000 units quota allowed to the carmaker that doesn’t require homologation in India.
The Skoda Kodiaq RS is much more powerful than the regular model. It comes with a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged in-line 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 236 BHP at 4000 RPM and 500 Nm of torque at 1750-2500 RPM. This engine is paired to a 7-speed DSG with paddle shifts.
The exterior gets sporty bits like black embellishments on the grille, bumper, roof rails, etc. It comes with 20-inch sporty alloys to differentiate with the regular version. The interior is all-black and comes with sports bucket seats.
We can expect Skoda India to price it upwards of Rs. 40 lakhs. The Czech carmaker will be looking at limited numbers in India.
