Skoda has added a new variant to the Octavia range and it comes with a lot of useful features to make the sedan an even better package.

2013 Skoda Octavia Test Drive Review
The Style Plus variant is around Rs. 70,000/- pricier than the Elegance trim

The Skoda Octavia is one amazing driver’s car and satisfies the enthusiast in you. The vehicle is also a very good package and comes loaded with a nice feature list. Now, the Czech automaker has made things a bit more interesting. Skoda has added a new variant to the Octavia portfolio and this range-topping model is called Style Plus. This new variant sits above the Elegance trim which was the top-most trim earlier. The Style Plus variant comes with a lot of useful stuff that isn’t present in the lower variants and makes the Octavia even better.

First of all, the Octavia now gets side airbags at the rear too, hence taking the total count of airbags to eight. The Style Plus variant also offers keyless entry, start and exit system with an engine start/stop button, SmartLink mobile phone connectivity, paddle-shifters and a rear view camera that is linked to the display of the infotainment system. The rest of the equipment continues to remain pretty much unchanged. The Style Plus variant doesn’t seem to have any cosmetic changes.

The Skoda Octavia Style Plus is offered with both petrol as well as diesel engine options. Since it is the top variant now, it is offered only with the DSG gearbox and hence the 1.4-litre TSI engine misses out on the Style Plus trim. The 1.8-litre TSI and 2.0-litre TDI engines are available in this trim. The 1.8-litre TSI Style Plus is priced at Rs. 19.80 lakhs while the 2.0-litre TDI Style Plus is priced at Rs. 21.30 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The Skoda Octavia competes with the Toyota Corolla, Volkswagen Jetta, Renault Fluence, Hyundai Elantra and Chevrolet Cruze in the Indian market.
