Zac Hollis Tweet
Well, the news is out from the horse’s mouth

Skoda India will launch the new generation 2021 Octavia by end of April and deliveries of the premium sedan will begin in May. Brand Director of Skoda Auto India, Zac Hollis took to Twitter to make the much-awaited announcement.

Now in its fourth generation, the D-segment sedan, built on the MQB platform, is bigger than the model it replaces and, as a result, has more space for occupants inside.

The design of the car is new overall with there being a modish LED headlight setup, LED fog lights, LED split tail lamps, fresh bumpers, large radiator grille and new alloy wheels.

Likewise, the interior of the car has changed from its predecessor’s too and it is quintessentially Skoda when it comes to the layout. There will be a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, a 10-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone charging, heads-up display, gesture control, connected car tech, among other features.

Customers will be able to buy the 2021 Octavia with either a 150 HP 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine or a 190 HP 2.0-litre turbo petrol motor, while a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG gearbox will be on offer. In the short term at least, Skoda does not plan to bring diesel-powered models to India.

After the 2021 Skoda Octavia launch takes place and deliveries follow suit, the Czech carmaker will launch the Kushaq compact SUV in June and deliver it to customers from July.
