Skoda Octavia RS iV plug-in hybrid to be launched in India soon
Skoda Auto India is planning to launch the Octavia RS iV plug-in hybrid soon. The Czech carmaker will import the performance oriented Octavia to India via the CBU route.
It will be their first hybrid car to launch in India, that too plug-in hybrid. Launch is expected to happen around mid-2023.
Unlike the 2.0-litre powered RS245, this new generation RS iV hybrid is environment friendly having a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine under the hood. However, it produces the same 245 HP combined power output and 30 Nm more torque of 400 Nm.
It does 0-100 km/hr in 7.3 seconds and has a top speed of 225 km/hr. It has a 13 kWh battery pack and is capable of doing 60 km solely on electric power.
The exterior looks sporty with a blacked out grille design and sharp bumper design along with sporty alloy wheels. The interior too gets sporty elements to differentiate the performance centric car.
It comes with 10-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. You can expect more features compared to the regular Octavia currently on sale in India.
It is expected to be priced around Rs. 40 lakhs (ex-showroom).
