Skoda has revealed yet another feature of its Octavia L&K variant. The carmaker has integrated the range topping variant with the Virtual Cockpit interface, which is a fully digital instrument cluster. This feature has been added officially and is mentioned on their website.

The Virtual Cockpit has four modes which can be selected using the high-definition TFT screen. The layout can be customised and the traditional analogue dials are replaced by 3D graphics to give it a futuristic look. Users can switch between the instruments and the satellite-navigation feature.

The entertainment features, trip and driving assist information screens can also be customised to suit the driver’s needs. The various options can be selected from the controls mounted on the steering wheel. These can be switched easily by the user on the move. Zoom functions on the map are also incorporated into the controls.

The Virtual Cockpit feature is available internationally on the Octavia and higher models like the Superb and the Kodiaq. This indicates that the versions of brand’s flagship sedan and its seven-seater SUV designed for India will most likely come with the Virtual Cockpit interface incorporated in them soon.

The SUV set to hit Indian markets by 2020, which will be a strong opponent to the Hyundai Creta, will most likely also be housing this feature as well.

The Skoda Octavia L&K petrol variant is priced at Rs. 23.15 lakhs while the L&K diesel variant is priced at Rs. 25.75 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom)
