Skoda Auto Volkswagen India surpasses two million units produced across its facilities
Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has surpassed the landmark figure of 2 million units produced, marking a major achievement for the group’s operations in the country. The cumulative figure includes models built for both domestic sales and exports.
MQB-A0-IN Platform Crosses 5,00,000 Units
A significant portion of this milestone comes from vehicles based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which has contributed over 5,00,000 units. Models such as the Skoda Kushaq, Slavia, Kylaq and Volkswagen’s Taigun and Virtus have been central to this volume.
The company continues to expand its global footprint, with more than 7,00,000 vehicles exported from India to regions including Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
Rapid Production Growth in Recent Years
Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has accelerated production in the last few years, with the most recent 5,00,000 units completed in just 3.5 years. For 2025, the group has reported its strongest-ever performance for the January–October period, recording 61,607 units – more than double the figure from the same period last year.
Volkswagen’s Virtus sedan has also seen strong demand, registering its highest monthly sales during the Diwali period and capturing over 40 percent market share in its segment.
Manufacturing and Investments
The company operates two production facilities – one in Pune and another in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. Nearly €600 million has been invested to scale up operations, raise localisation levels and support future volumes for both Skoda and Volkswagen brands in India.
