The first ever Formula 1 race in India is yet to be conducted but that does not stop Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) from planning a track in Mumbai. The corporation is looking to construct a F1 circuit on the lines of international standards and is looking for consultatnts to advise them on the developments of the same. Although MSRDC has not declared which location in Mumbai would see the F1 track, a requirement of 500 acres makes Malad, Thane and Panvel the favored locations.

Mr. Bipin Shrimali, VC and MD, MSRDC has revealed that out of three bidders, two have been shortlisted already. Once the final selection is done by the end of the month, MSRDC will commence the development of the F1 circuit which will also feature a theme park. Will FIA have two Grand Prix in India or a race in Mumbai and Delhi will alternate each year?
