Maruti Fronx
The Fronx is made at Suzuki’s Gujarat plant and exported

Maruti Suzuki launched the Fronx in India earlier this year and the vehicle gets two engine options here – 1.2 K-Series petrol and 1.0 BoosterJet turbo petrol. The Fronx is also sold in South Africa and it is exported from Suzuki’s Gujarat plant.

In South Africa, the Suzuki Fronx has been launched with the 1.5-litre petrol engine which makes 103 HP and 138 Nm. This engine also powers the Brezza, Ertiga, etc. It is offered with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed torque convertor. The Fronx in SA misses out on the two engine options which are available in India.

There is no likelihood of the India-spec Fronx getting this engine. Toyota is also gearing up to launch their version of the Fronx called Urban Cruiser Taisor and in India it will get the same 1.2 and 1.0 engines while in South Africa it’ll get the 1.5-litre petrol engine.
