2014 Suzuki Hayate Launch

Updating its existing product lineup in the country, Suzuki Motorcycles India has launched the new generation Hayate motorcycle, priced at Rs. 44,969/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). With aesthetic upgrades for a fresh new look, Suzuki promises a stylish new Hayate coupled with the same 112cc motor along with the addition of some new features for a smoother and convenient ride. A dud product in the mass market 110cc segment, the 2014 Suzuki Hayate gets new body graphics as well as a new fully painted side cowl that should help giving the motorcycle a new lease of life.

Other updates include tubeless tyres with broader rims, maintenance free battery and a 5-step rear shock absorber. There are no changes to the powertrain though and the Hayate continues with the same 112cc 4-stroke, air-cooled engine producing 8.3 PS of peak power and 8.8 Nm of torque, paired to a 4-speed gearbox. Suzuki does state that the carburettor settings have undergone improvement in order to offer improved mileage and smoother ride. Stopping power comes from the drum brakes at the front and rear. A front disc brake however is not on offer, not even as an option.

A forgotten product in the feisty 110cc entry-level motorcycle segment, the Suzuki Hayate could not replicate the success of its established rivals competing against the Honda Dream Yuga, Hero Passion xPro, TVS Star City+, Mahindra Centuro and the likes in the segment. The 2014 Suzuki Hayate is available with five colour options on the palette including Glass Sparkle Black – Red Graphic, Glass Sparkle Black – Blue Graphic, Pearl Mirage White, Pearl Mira Red/Glass Sparkle Black and Pearl Moon Stone Grey. Suzuki has commenced the sale of the new Hayate at all its dealerships across the country.
