Suzuki could very well launch the V-Strom 1050XT that it claims is “the master of adventure”

Suzuki Motorcycle India has, through a new social media campaign, been releasing teasers of an adventure bike that the company is set to launch here in the near future.

But what bike will that be? Since the Japanese brand already sells the V-Strom 650XT in India, it could either be the V-Strom 250 or a model from V-Strom 1050 range, quite possibly the XT.

Suzuki V-Strom 250
It is unlikely to be the V-Strom 250

If the soon-to-be launched bike is the V-Strom 250, then it could be based on the Gixxer 250’s platform. Which means the heart of the quarter litre adventure will be oil-cooled and will develop 26.5 PS and 22.2 Nm of torque.

But, no development mules of the Indianised V-Strom 250 have been spotted and it does not make sense for Suzuki to import a quarter litre bike in order to compete against the KTM 250 Adventure.

Thus, all possibilities point toward the introduction of the V-Strom 1050XT, a large ADV that is billed as “the master of adventure” by the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer.

Powered by a 1037cc V-twin engine (making 107.4 PS at 8500 RPM and 100 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM) that is teamed to a 6-speed gearbox, the ADV weighs 247 kg with a full tank of fuel (20 litres).

Suzuki V-Strom 1050 Range
The XT of the V-Strom 1050 range has a seat height of 850-870 mm and 160 mm of road clearance

The Suzuki V-Strom 1050XT has KYB inverted front fork, a monoshock in the rear, 310 twin front discs, single 260 mm rear rotor, 19-inch front wheel with 110/80-section rubber and 17-inch rear rim with 150/70-section tyre (the wheels are wire-spoked jobbies).

Featuring full LED lights, an LCD dash, adjustable flyscreen, and an adjustable seat, the motorcycle is equipped with the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) rider aid package that comprises hill hold control, cruise control, Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) and more.

In the UK, the Suzuki V-Strom 1050XT costs £11,899 (Rs. 11.78 lakhs) on the road and is available in as many as 6 colour options along with a 3-year warranty.
