
Tata Curvv ICE & EV Versions Get Dark Edition, Priced From Rs. 16.49 Lakh For Curvv ICE & Rs. 22.24 Lakh For Curvv EV
Tata has launched the Dark Edition treatment of its Coupe SUVs, the Curvv and Curvv EV. The Curvv Dark Edition is available on the Accomplished S and Accomplished Plus A variants. The Curvv EV’s Dark Edition, on the other hand, is only available on its top-spec Empowered A variant.
Styling
The Dark Edition of the Curvv ICE and EV versions largely get the same details as seen on the rest of the Dark Editions offered by the brand. Both the Coupe SUVs get cosmetic enhancements like a Carbon Black shade, dark chrome highlights and black skid plates.
These details complete the stylish SUVs’ menacing and aggressive look. There is also ‘Dark’ badging on the front fenders.
Interior
The interior also gets black treatment to match the Dark Edition theme. The Dark Edition replaces all the lighter shades with black upholstery and #Dark embossing on the headrests. The headliner is also finished in black to complete the look.
Features
The Curvv ICE and EV Dark Editions feature a 12.3-inch infotainment system with a 10.25-inch driver display, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger and ventilated front seats. The Curvv EV Dark Edition gets Vehicle-2-Load functionality and rear sunshades as opposed to the ICE version of the Curvv Dark Edition.
Safety Features
In terms of safety, both the Dark Editions get standard 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors, and level 2 ADAS functionality.
Tata Curvv Dark Edition: Engine Options
The Tata Curvv Dark Edition is powered by a 1.2-litre Turbo petrol engine that produces 125 HP and 225 Nm of torque, mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DCT transmission. There is also the option of the 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 118 HP and 260 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or 7-speed DCT.
Tata Curvv EV Dark Edition: Battery & Range
The Tata Curvv EV Dark Edition is powered by a 55 kWh battery pack with a single motor setup. It produces 167 HP and 215 Nm of torque, allowing a 502 Km of MIDC-claimed range. The 0-100 Km/hr rotation takes 8.6 seconds, up to a top speed of 160 Km/hr in sport mode and 120 Km/hr in other modes.
The Curvv EV comes with a 7.2 kW AC Charger, taking 7.9 hours to charge from 0-100%. A 70 kW DC Charger can charge the EV from 10-80% in just 40 minutes. Additionally, there is also the option of charging via a 15A wall socket.
Pricing
The Tata Curvv Dark Edition is available on the high-spec Accomplished S and Accomplished Plus A variants, which command a premium of Rs. 32,000. The pricing for the Curvv Dark Edition starts at Rs. 16.49 Lakh (ex-showroom).
The Tata Curvv EV Dark Edition is only available on the top-spec Empowered Plus A variant, commanding a premium of Rs. 25,000. The pricing for the Dark Edition of the Curvv EV starts at Rs. 22.24 Lakh (ex-showroom).
Outlook
The Dark Edition effectively mobilises the buyers who are in the market for cosmetically more aggressive models. The Tata Curvv ICE and EV are both stylish coupe SUVs which carry an elegant design generally. However, with the Dark Edition treatment, the coupe SUV looks more athletic than before. This can translate into better sales despite a premium.
