Tata introduces mobile doorstep EV charging service for Delhi-NCR electric vehicle owners
Tata Motors has partnered with Hopcharge to introduce an on-demand doorstep charging service for electric vehicle owners in the Delhi-NCR region. The initiative aims to address charging challenges faced by EV users who may not have access to dedicated home chargers or private parking spaces.
Under the collaboration, Hopcharge will deploy mobile fast-charging vans across the region. These vehicles are designed to deliver charging services directly to customers at their preferred location. EV owners can request a charging session through a dedicated booking platform, allowing them to schedule charging at their convenience.
The service is intended to provide an alternative charging solution for urban EV users, particularly those living in apartments or locations where installing home charging infrastructure is difficult.
As part of the rollout, Tata EV customers will also receive complimentary access to doorstep charging services. The offering is structured around three subscription plans that provide varying numbers of charging sessions over different durations.
The Success 3.3 plan, valid for 12 months, includes 48 doorstep fast-charging sessions along with the option to reschedule bookings without restrictions. It also offers 12 emergency charging sessions, known as RescueCharge, where up to 5 kWh of energy can be delivered in situations such as low battery emergencies.
Another option, the Success 7.2 plan, extends the coverage period to 24 months and increases the number of charging sessions to 96. It also includes 24 RescueCharge sessions of up to 5 kWh each.
The third option, called the Experience plan, is a shorter six-month package that offers 24 doorstep fast-charging sessions along with six RescueCharge sessions of up to 5 kWh each.
Across all plans, users are allowed to charge their vehicles up to 100 percent state of charge once every month.
With the introduction of mobile charging vans, the partnership aims to expand charging accessibility in dense urban areas while offering EV owners greater flexibility in how and where they charge their vehicles.
