Tata Hexa Off-Road
The Tata Hexa will be offered with AWD Terrain Response System

Tata Motors is all set to launch the Hexa next month. The dealer drives have commenced and it has started reaching the dealerships across the country. The car has been seen tackling off-road obstacles in some pictures and it looks quite capable considering the fact that it is based on the same platform as the Safari Storme.

The Tata Hexa will come with the Land Rover inspired off-road tech called Terrain Response System that offers different modes of off-roading and also an auto mode that senses the terrain and adjusts the parameters accordingly. Some of the new Tata features will include touch screen infotainment system with high-end JBL audio system having Bluetooth connectivity.

Powering the Tata Hexa is the same 2.2-litre Varicor 400 engine also seen on the Storme. It churns out 156 PS at 4000 RPM and 400 Nm of massive torque at 1700-2700 RPM. The Hexa will come with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options. In terms of size, the car is 4788 mm long, 1903 mm wide and 1791 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2850 mm and ground clearance of 200 mm.

It shares the same ground clearance with the Safari but has a lower fuel tank capacity of 60-litre compared to Safari’s 63-litres. The Hexa is equipped with disc brakes both at the front and the rear and the suspension duty is done by double wishbone up front and 5-link coil springs at the rear. It comes with 19-inch alloys with 235/55 section tyres wrapped on them.
