Tata Motors will showcase the Aria replacement Hexa at the 2016 Auto Expo. The new crossover has been spied testing just ahead of the unveil, the new spy images completely reveal the interiors with the exteriors still covered. The most interesting feature in the MPV is the terrain response system which is clearly revealed. It will take on the likes of the Mahindra XUV500, Scorpio, Renault Duster and the newly launched Hyundai Creta.

The Tata Hexa is designed in accordance with the automaker’s new design language and looks way better than Aria which was often criticised for its design. The character lines on the bonnet along with dark projector headlamps give the new vehicle a very aggressive look and the honeycomb grille houses the Tata logo. The rear still has twin exhausts along with large diffusers just like the Aria. The newly designed horizontal tail lamps compliment the overall character of the vehicle.

As mentioned earlier, the terrain response system is a unique feature reported to be borrowed from Land Rover. It comes with three modes namely Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road along with an Auto mode. The system is expected to be for suspension setup, however a more dedicated system can alter engine outputs too. This will give the new MPV some serious off-roading capabilities. The mode selector knob for this system is placed below the climate control switches beside the 12V charger.

The overall interior of the Tata Hexa is borrowed from the Zest/Bolt siblings with piano black treatment. The centre console has the touchscreen infotainment system developed by Harman below the AC vents which makes it different from the Aria. Tata Motors has seen years of dull sales with the Manza, Vista and Aria, this is the reason the company has decided to replace the entire lineup and rebuild their brand image. The recently unveiled Zica has seen a good response and is expected to score good numbers.
